We Advocate for the Industry and Share Insights & Resources:
Advocacy
In collaboration with our members, the WSAA engages in a range of advocacy activities (ie: supporting Australian Made, fire regulations, child safety, energy efficiency, etc) by engaging government bodies and stakeholders to progress and promote the interests of the industry.
Regulatory Guidance & Compliance
Members receive complimentary consumer law and legal compliance advice, access to free online training and resources from our Australian Consumer Law partners Watchdog Compliance on issues such child safety laws, product liability, sales & marketing, and more.
Fire Regulations Compliance
Following the changes to the National Construction Code (NCC) which impacted the installation of external shading, the WSAA conducted full scale fire tests with the results incorporated into a ‘Performance Solution’ template which is available to members on request. This may be used by members on a case by case basis to help demonstrate compliance with the NCC so projects may still proceed.
Energy Efficiency Resources
Members can access the WincovER energy rating database and energy efficiency training to inform their staff and customers about the energy efficiency performance of window coverings and shades.
