Remembering Peter Meyer

November 8, 2025

3 November 1948 – 8 November 2025

It is with great sadness that we share news of the passing of Peter Meyer, following a short battle with lymphoma and autoimmune anaemia.

As a dedicated member of our Association, Peter joined the Board of the then BMAA in 2013 and served as a Director for 11 years until 2024. During his time on the Board, he held several key roles, from liaising with government and industry during the introduction of the blind and curtain cord legislation, to most recently overseeing the membership and consumer liaison portfolios.

In recognition of his significant contribution to the industry, Peter was proudly inducted into our Hall of Fame in 2014.

On behalf of the Board, staff and all members, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Meyer family.

A service to celebrate Peter’s life will be held at 11am on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, at the Lotus Pavilion, Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed, allowing all who knew and loved Peter to join in remembering him.

In his final years, Peter faced the challenges of dementia, and supporting further research into this condition was something deeply valued by his family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to pay their respects are invited to donate to Dementia Australia, a cause close to Peter’s heart: https://fundraising.dementia.org.au/fundraisers/simonmeyer/in-memory-of-peter-meyer

Peter’s dedication to his profession, his family, and to the WSAA community will be deeply missed.
