South Australian Industry Social Night – September 2024 Wrap-Up

September 11, 2024

A Fantastic Turnout for South Australia’s First Industry Social Night

What a night to remember in Adelaide! On Wednesday, 11 September 2024, the Window Shading Association of Australia (WSAA) hosted its inaugural South Australian Industry Social Night at the Maid & Magpie Hotel — and the response was outstanding.

With 44 industry professionals coming together from across the state, the event provided a relaxed, welcoming environment for members and guests to connect, share insights, and discuss the latest developments shaping Australia’s window shading sector.

From manufacturers and retailers to suppliers, installers, and designers, the evening brought together a diverse cross-section of South Australia’s growing shading community. Conversations flowed easily as attendees discussed emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in areas such as automation, sustainability, and product innovation.

A Night of Connection and Collaboration

The purpose of the WSAA’s state-based events is simple — to bring the industry closer together. In an era of constant change, these social nights play an important role in strengthening relationships and fostering collaboration among members who might not otherwise have the opportunity to meet face-to-face.

Guests enjoyed drinks, shared ideas, and caught up with colleagues in a friendly and informal setting. The energy and enthusiasm in the room made it clear that South Australia is ready for more regular, locally driven events.

A special mention goes to the newly formed South Australian CommitteeBrenton Bailey (Bailey Blinds), Kate Dix (Complete Blinds), Marc de Maaijer (CW Products), and Danny Elassaad (CW Products) — for organising and hosting such a successful launch event. Their commitment to local engagement is helping ensure South Australia’s shading professionals have a strong voice within the national association.

Looking Ahead

Following the success of this inaugural evening, WSAA is planning a series of South Australian events in the future, including educational workshops, product showcases, and further networking nights designed to connect members and celebrate industry excellence.

The association thanks all who attended and encourages members to keep an eye on the WSAA Events Calendar for upcoming opportunities to get involved.

It’s safe to say that the South Australian shading community has made its mark — and this first event was just the beginning.
