WSAA members and industry peers gathered at The Rogue Landing Bar at The Rogue Squire, Wheelers Hill, on Thursday 22 October for an evening of trivia, industry insight and networking.
The intimate group brought together retailers, manufacturers and suppliers from across Victoria’s window furnishings industry. The size of the room made for relaxed conversation and genuine connection throughout the night.
Josh McConnell from Delux Blinds stepped up as MC and kept attendees entertained from start to finish.

WSAA CEO Wes Fawaz presented WincovER, WSAA’s tool for showing the impact window coverings can have on a home’s energy performance. Wes explained how WincovER draws on the same calculation engine used in NatHERS, Australia’s home energy rating scheme. That gives retailers a credible way to talk with customers who want to reduce their heating and cooling costs. It also helps put window shading in the spotlight as part of the broader energy-efficiency conversation.
Feedback on the night was positive. Members said they liked how WincovER ties together customer energy concerns, the national rating scheme and the role of window coverings, and several said they plan to start using it with their customers.
“It was great to see members so engaged with WincovER. It gives our industry a practical way to show customers the value window coverings could bring to their home’s energy performance, and that’s a conversation we want every retailer to be having.”

Four rounds of general knowledge and industry trivia put everyone’s knowledge to the test. Team Energy Savers took out the top prize:
Prizes were awarded to the winners and the runner-up table.
WSAA thanks event sponsor Norman Australia for their support, Josh McConnell for his work as MC, Sarah McConnell for organising the event and everyone who came along to make the night a success.
